Information Architecture
We believe that poor information architecture is the number one reason people get "lost" on the web and imposing order on potential chaos has become one of our obsessions. Information architecture classifies, categorizes, and organizes the content of a web site, creating a blueprint for the design of the interface and navigation system and a foundation for future growth and expansion. To be effective, information architecture needs to be logical, intelligent, and mindful of the people who are going to use your site, structuring content in a way that will make sense to them.
If the information architecture is the blueprint, the interface and navigation system provide the signposts. Useable navigation is intuitive, consistent, and easy to learn. It provides feedback to tell people where they are, where they can go, and what they can do when they get there.
