Originally published in 1971, Canada's Changing North is a classic overview of the geography, climate, people, and political issues affecting northern Canada. The second edition, published in 2003 by McGill-Queen's University Press, incorporated approximately two-thirds of the essays from the first edition, as well as new material culled from journals, magazines, and reports. It also included thirty-nine maps and figures, none of which were available in digital format.

Guided by hard copies of the originals, which varied in style, quality, and accuracy, zijn digital recreated the maps and figures. We updated and standardized the style, corrected inaccuracies, and incorporated recent changes to the political boundaries and toponomy of Canada's northern territory.
