photographs and maps

We have extensive experience scanning and retouching black-and-white photographs – from prints, slides, or negatives – for print reproduction, and we do colour scanning and retouching for publication on the web. We've posted a few examples of our image restoration.

We have also produced several maps for books published by McGill-Queen's University Press. These maps were not available in digital format and scanning them would not have provided sufficient quality for print reproduction. We recreated each map in Illustrator as a vector image, using the original as a guide and updating or retaining its style according to the author's preference. Wherever possible, we used the GMT suite of tools to ensure we were representing coastlines accurately.
