Mountains So Sublime

Nineteenth-Century British Travellers and the Lure of the Rocky Mountain West

Terry Abraham

University of Calgary Press

The production manager chose the 7½ x 5½-inch trim to recall the dimensions of a postcard. To reinforce this allusion, images were set with a wide white border and the text was set in 10.4/12.6 Bembo Pro in two 16p6 columns divided by a thin line. The handwriting typeface P22 Cezanne, used for the title and chapter titles, evokes the travellers’ letters and accounts that form the basis of the author’s 248-page discussion.
